True. Had plenty of those this year. But not the 10-15 I thought we would put down.

I'm ready for fall and hunting to be here. Thinking about heading back to MI again for another week of hunting this fall.

True dat. I know where a bunch are but it's all private land. Public is a clusterfuck that I don't intend on dealing with again up here. Private land within the boundaries of public that's vaguely market if at all. Almost got a trespassing ticket because my map showed where I was at was A-Ok to hunt, it wasn't. Map came from the parks website.

I'm happy with my first day out goose hunting. Beautiful day. Plenty of geese and other birds flying around.

Took me a bit to knock the rust off. I had a pair I should have shot at but didn't. Then I shot at a pair I shouldn't have. After that I go my act together and got these three.

Set up on the wrong tank this morning. Had three buzz by this morning never ripping a wing. Packed up ,headed out and saw about 24 sitting on the next tank over. Oh well it was a nice morning to watch the sun come up.

Even though I only got one, there is something special when they follow the scipt laid out in your head when you set out the
decoys.

I mostly hunt at a club in the suburbs that is an old strip mine. It's not your classic goose field. There is a wall of trees to the east at about 80 yards and to the south in front at about 150 yards. It's a field we cleared. It has a dirt road running through it and pvc pipes to keep morons from tearing it up when it is wet. Behind the blind is a bunch of brush and few trees. All this stuff impacts the goose behavior. They like to swing in over that water you can see on a south wind today which keeps them at the edge of range. Most come from the south.

So I needed to get the birds to swing around behind the blind, they'd be high going over the trees behind me, swing them around and get them to come in over that water, and then drop down and hook around in front of the blind to put them right where I want them.

That one goose followed the script perfectly. I even did my part and dropped him with one shot right in front of the blind. Which wasn't hard since he was only about 20 yards away, precisely where I had planned to shoot him when I set the decoys

Could get tougher now that you've gone and killed the one that follows the script.

What a world we live in when Facebook getting a "dislike" button makes the national morning news.

I'm sure it'll not actually give a "dislike" like how it counts "likes" but it'll remove the things from your feed to further profile who you are
