Thanks guys. I'm really happy with this pontoon. Kind of a pain in the ass to keep at the house and trailer around. But once it setup and hunting I love it. Extremely stable and more room than I can use

Ollly,
Got an envelope from you today, with a piece of cardboard in it. No sticker.

Send me your mailing address in a PM.

Never mind I already have yours ready to go. I was waiting for a whole bunch of people to ask for them before I mailed them out. Going to be mailing about 20 of them soon. Yours included.

Two years in a row without killing a bird on opening weekend :(

Actually, I still had a pretty good time. Called in two geese that my buddies proceed to kill before I had a chance to pull the trigger. Had an otter swim by. Only 3 one I've ever seen in the wild. Lots of fun things like that, but would have still preferred to have been hunting with Nuff, damn.

Thanks man! Next day was a little more average. But we still ended up with 10 birds and a good mixed bag again. Got 4 nice drake redheads though

Wind and rain in the morning. Hope some birds want to play. Got a new pup coming out on his first hunt so hopefully can get him a little action.

For sure. And his handler isn't a duck hunter and I've never really worked with a retriever. But he did amazingly well for his first hunt with little pre training. We shot 17 birds and he did full or partial retrieves on close to a dozen of them. He was chasing and even dove after a crippled bufflehead so it was good to see he has real drive to get the birds.

Goodness. This year is screaming by. Before I know it duck will be over. Can't remember when I last posted, so here's a short recap:
Opener was teal and wood duck central, I shot like crap.
Next weekend was wood duck shoot, I shot like crap. After I went to the range and got help with my mount.
Skipped the next weekend to prepare for Canada.
Canada for a week, started out slow and finished with a bang.
Got a guy out for his first diver hunt today and he's hooked even more now seeing flocks commit to the decoys.
My absolute favorite time of the day is from just before dawn, until just after. Most folks will spend their entire lives in bed sleeping through that magical hour - Mean Gene

Morning fellas! I'm back from MI, man that's a long drive and it was good to be out of cell phone range for a while. I'll post some pictures in a little bit.

Morning boss. Had a decent week of weather to be hunting. How were the bird numbers up there?

They were decent enough to keep you attention but not super great numbers. I bagged at least 2 birds a day while I was there and limited just one day. Came home with less birds than last year but had just as good of a time. It snowed while I was there and of course like last year the highlight of the trip was meeting up with Woody and his gang.

Not bad. The diver numbers here this year have been way up. Been hunting with my buddy and combining our spreads and hunting over 200+ decoys and 4 or 5 guns in the toon. Been getting at least 10 birds a day with the peak last Saturday in the snow got a 5 man limit. Slowly pulling me away form the greenheads and marsh hunting. Haha.

Yup...My favorite wild game by far. I don't put any kind of seasoning on it when I cook it. Just all natural flavor

I was once so ruffed grouse crazy that I ordered eight years of my life around spending part of most every open season day I wasn't on the road hunting something else gunning grouse over pointing dogs. But I never fell in love with their flavor, just the rush. Would much rather woodcock, quail, pheasant and, yes, duck. Though I'm not a stinkin' diver hunter.
