To each his own. Not all scenarios are the same, and if in the one where the laser means I don't have to have a death on my conscience, all the better. If in another where there is no time to turn it on, the gun can still go boom without warning. The one constant variable is that I place my own existence as a higher priority over scumbag trying to hurt me.

If its the one in the form of an AR-15 look-alike, that classifies as scary and is soon to be outlawed.

Tripod your absolutely right. I hope no one here ever has to kill someone in self defense. And no one really ever knows how they will feel about or deal with it unless they have done it. It's a feeling I wouldn't wish on anyone!

That's good to hear, I talk to a lot of people that actually believe that having a gun is all they need. I even met a girl once who had her CC permit but carried an unloaded revolver around....

On top of just having it on your conscience, there is also the whole other side of clearing your name as a justifiable incident and the possibility of wrongful death suits from the "victimized" druggie's family members. How many times have you heard this crap? "Oh, he wouldn't actually hurt anyone, he just needed money for meth."

Not to mention a civil suit that can come. Although a lot of states are making it so you are protected if found innocent criminally.

That's why I have a couple "extra" guns laying around.

If you happen to break into my house unarmed, you'll be armed by the time the cops/coroner show up.

You'll be surprised to know that Il has this law that protects people who use lethal force in a self defense situation. We also have a stand your ground clause.

I'll see if he's got it laying around.
It would have been back in the late 50's or early '60.
As I understand it, he killed a guy in a shoot out and decided to look for a new line of work not long after that.

my neighbor's grandpa was a CHiPie bout the same time. Think his ID was in the 2000's. We don't recycle ours like other agencies do, so you can determine when a person worked based on his ID
