You may be on to something there. Considering the number of animals I've killed inside of 15 yards, including a few with my hands and one buck I killed with a knife after a wrestling match of sorts. I once killed a blacktail buck by sticking my model 94 against his ribs and shooting him at point blank. And, before you ask, no he had not been shot or injured first. I'm thinking I was about 19 at the time.
In the Army, I always took point and everyone followed me because I had the best night vision of every platoon and squad I was ever a part of. Ah, reminiscing the good ol' days. Now I'm half deaf and probably should wear glasses but, I still like the idea of looking my quarry in the eyes right before, well, you get the idea.
