It's going good, didn't go this weekend. Stayed home with the wife and kids. Tired of driving down to the club and only shooting a few birds. Took the boy down to a motocross track in Red Bluff today so he could ride.

Are you going out next week? Hope the birds are finally down there.

Oh, if this thread is about naughty bits- I like waxed!

I am afraid that we are not going to get a good number of birds until after the season. I think this is my worst season of the past few years. Oh well, at least we have a few more weeks to try and turn things around.

Goldfish that video was a wast of 5 minutes of my life. I'm stupid because I kept watching thinking something cool was going to happen. If you haven't watched it don't. It sucks!

If the bird numbers we've been seeing up here are any indication of what's coming your way, put your hunting gear in the attic for the season, you're done.
This is also my worst season, so far. It's my fault too because I haven't put the time in I usually do. By now, on average, I should have at least 30 hunts in my logs but, I think I'm closer to 10 hunts. Unless something changes fast, I'll likely not even make it to triple digits before it is over.
We haven't had the numbers we usually see since October sometime. When things froze last week, there was a flush of birds to the river but, nothing like we usually see by now. Even the divers are low numbers for this time of year.

Headed out the door right now with the Emperor and DHC Rambler. Hopefully the Emporer will do us better than the DHC deek has done so far.

Big "ManlyMan" day planned. Neighbor and I getting ready to load up the chainsaws, a couple pistols, and a .22. Headed back to the woods to cut some firewood, shoot shit, and maybe poach a squirrel or three (hence the .22). Need to be back at the house by 1:00, so I can split and stack the wood, then clean the guns as I watch the Redskins in the playoffs sipping a beer while (hopefully) the squirrel and dumplings is cooking on the woodstove.

Suck on that, Doc.

On an unrelated, not so Manly note, I'm waiting for The Dingo to die or shit all over the house. Last night while I was out bringing in firewood, she saw fit to pull an entire cheesesteak off the counter and wolf it down, onions, hot peppers, and all. That was my dinner. Bitch.

Yea the video is lame as all get out. The video is from Europe, so it was probably last years model, lol. All that work, and it's kind of dumb. Cool idea, but sleds with a third that power have more power than traction so what's the point.

I just got into it big time with my crack head neighbor. They have this pit mix and it always runs over and plays with Moose. I'll give Moose a sit and he stays perfect while this other dog runs circles around him trying to play. Every time this happens I ask the neighbor nice to come get his dog, this time he says "Just relax let them play a little". That's when I fired back that I didn't want his monster of a dog on my property and he needed to get control of his property. He just huffed and puffed and dragged his dog back into their house.

Eric, I got no squirrels today. But what I do, I boil them down to pull the meat off the bone. Then I shred that chunky, and put it in a pot. Add Lima beans (frozen or fresh, not canned), sweet corn (canned is fine), about 4 1 inch squares of seasoning meat (fatback), and water. Add thyme and rosemary to taste and cook down for about 3 hours on simmer. Then salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil and add dumplings. I use frozen flat dumplings, but wide egg noodles work, too. Make sure there's LOTS of liquid at this point, or your dumplings will turn it into paste. Better the next day.

We didn't cut it down today (got two cherries and an oak), but the tree in the pic is probably the biggest cherry I've ever seen. That's on the books for next weekend, with two other maples.

Yep. 11 I think. 2 redheads. The first canvasback in several several years, so I hear. I can honestly claim zero specks. Never shot at one.
