This morning is flying by! Tomorrow I'll be driving all day, ready to be on the road and get it done with.

F that drive. I hate the drive from MT to MI with a passion. This is only the second time I have flown both ways between the two. Total trip time of 6-7 hours is a lot less depressing than two 14-15 hour days driving by yourself.

I hear you on those drive times. I drive to WY 4-5 times a year and most of the time one way or both is alone. It's a 13 hour drive from door to door but, I've made it in as little as 12 or as much as 22 hours(bad storms).
There has been a few times I flew into Idaho Falls and they came over and picked me up. Definately alot more relaxing letting the pilot do the work and I have time to start doing things when I get there, instead of sleeping 10 hrs from being up a day and half. It's like picking up 2 more days there when you fly and, sometimes it's cheaper.

I would rather drive any day then go through an airport in today's time.

While i don't mind driving, i will fly any day, especially if military is paying. Hard to beat flying first class.

I'd rather drive and stop at my own pace then be cramped into an airplane seat. I always try to drive on TDY orders and usually can if I prove it'll save the CG money.

If you aren't riding first class on TDYs, you are doing it all wrong. I also put every flight I took with the Air Force on to my frequent flyers account. Racked up over 150k flyer miles in the process of flying for free and 1st class. If you don't enjoy spending a flight in a LaZBoy and drinking the entire flight for free, there is something wrong with you.

Depends where you go I guess. Airports in other countries are like hopping into your own vehicle, just about. The worst airport I've been to is JFK in NYC. Other than that, they haven't been bad. The key is to go through TSA at a laidback airport and take your connections at larger ones. That way you never have to deal with the Shaniquas.

airports are hell on earth for smokers. Scenario: half hour layover; risk missing your flight or go for the cig. Major cash lies in the balance. What do you do?
