I've killed a few in my day. If you examen one on a overcast or foggy day the head appears black. In good sun light the feathers are iridescent and reflect green. So to me no one is wrong or wright.

Assa wouldn't know this but a bull sprigs head appears to be brown in low light but in good sunlight the iridescent feathers appear purple.

Mostly the purple hue is only on the side of the head, toward the back and down toward their neck a little. Not like the green on the whole head of a common GE.

We just call them ringers. Well, I do. I try to avoid the other duck hunters. They're all assholes.

Ok. Why do they call canvasbacks canvasbacks? They don't have a back like canvas. Maybe they should call them redeyes.

Not all cans have red eyes. In time, when they let you out of the house more, and you experience things unrelated to home schooling, you will likely see a canvasback with yellow or gold eyes.

I've seen cans before and they had red eyes. But you have probably seen more cans than me so I'm going to believe you.

I'm far from an asshole. I'm a sucker to my girl, I'll freely admit that. I'm seriously trying to help you with that. Girls let you set the standard. If you get them things just because, I hope you win the lottery because you'll have an expensive life ahead. Honestly, getting her the beagle puppy for Valentines day is going to set the standard high as is because it will have good meaning behind it.

Yes, because you've been doing it for so long now. It's certainly a proven technique, I mean, you've used on at least one other female friend. What possible reason could there be to listen to advice from guys with roughly 17,000 times more "proven time" on the books?

I've seen cans before and they had red eyes. But you have probably seen more cans than me so I'm going to believe you.

OBX, here is a link to over "there", the OP was trying to get help with duck ID. He didn't believe he had a can because the eye color was yellow. The bird is definately a drake Can. Anyway, check it out.
