My wife hasn't worked in almost 2 years, so I couldn't afford a licence and if I could I really couldn't afford to go anywhere. It came down to putting food on the table...or go hunting.
My wife had fell and broke, split and shattered her femur on Feb 23, 2012...all my pay goes to bills and grub and gas....it's pretty depressing, so I'm hoping and praying, that I can hunt next year.
Wow man sorry to hear that. Glad to hear though that you're man enough to prioritize. But like Ron said welcome to the forum. Hopefully WFF can somewhat fill that void

Thanks Redbeard. To be honest..it seems like I've been here for year already. I belong to quite a few hunting site...and seems someone always has to up someone else. I always give my honest opinion. I don't sugar coat it. Whether it be on calls, decoys, politics, or life in general. I've learned a lot in my almost 50 yrs....life's hard lessons. Living well and comfy, living poor, living with quilt, shame, kicked while down, and having good people bring you back again. I'm honest and thoughtful...and I don't take BS...even though I give it..I will always let people know when I am. Good lord...this is starting to sound like a first meeting with the GF's parents or something   . Do unto others as you would have them, do unto you. Nuff said.
We'll make it through this rough patch...and I'll be able to bring my gun to the blind....and not just my camera.
I do really appreciate all the warm welcomes. Thank you all so much.
If you know anyone that needs some lessons in duck or goose calling..I give lessons through skype. I don't charge anything..it's just one way I give back to the life I live and love best.

That's a tough one, brother. But you'll make it through, you seem to have a good attitude about it. I'm a crotchety bastard, so I don't, but I admire it when I see it. You should build yourself a welder. It'll make you feel better, and it's only about $30.

You could still build it. It looks pretty simple. Really the only person that needs skill is the guy holding the boat paddle to beat you away from the electrocution device.

Well I for one hope things turn around for you and that you can hunt next season. Meanwhile, welcome to the forum. Most every one here is in some way or another a jerk, except me and maybe one or two others.

Thanks Ron....and I'm not a jerk or A-Hole...but I am a smarta$$....

Most of us are both jerks and assholes. The kids around here have potty mouths, but it's ok because we can use big boy language on WFF. There's an option to turn off the word filter, and see the words rather than stars if you so choose.

Oh, and don't tell people about calling lessons until I've had my turn...

I never saw this post. Next year, if you are short on cash and have the means to go hunting, I will buy your license and duck stamp for you.

Thank you guys so very much. It's one day at a time...but I believe we are slowly headed in the right direction. The Mrs goes for her 3rd surgery next Wed. They are going to take some stem cells, from her tibia, and inject them into her bone graph/ shattered area. We are hoping and praying this procedure works. She is still learning to walk...and has graduated from the wheel chair now to a cane. So hope is on the horizon.
A few more prayers would be much appreciated...Thank You!!

Sent your way, brother. Even though it doesn't always seem like it, God never puts more on our plate than we can handle, and it seems like you're doing a great job taking one bite at a time.
