No brakes needed for these things, not the best choice if you are using a regular boat ramp in good water. Some of the places we hunted had no ramps and water depths varied. If we could get the front of the boat on the trailer we could hand crank it up, also made it much easier to launch the boat in shallow water.
Gets tricky when using a regular boat ramp, who ever is in the boat is holding a rope tied off to trailer while backing down, would get to waters edge before unstrapping the bow. Or you could back in then unhook once you had your waders on.

My boat is so light that I can launch without a landing as well. The only time I have problems is shoving it off the trailer sometimes because it's boat on 2x4. That's why I want some carpet there.

Yessir. Saskatchewan. Problem is my boss suggested we don't take vacation at the end of the month, and the season tentatively opens the 22nd. I may need a new job come October.

Wouldn't be bad with a light boat, his is not. It is stupid heavy, but nice when it gets cold. The blind is solid metal and is welded on, the bow of the boat is a big storage for decoys, holds 4-5 dozen. Has a 27 horse shallow drive, 2 propane tanks and rail seating that was welded in. Very comfy, but too damn heavy.

Just found a new hunting show i've never watched, Avian X. Not sure about it yet. The intro was intense. And there's a narrator that makes it sounds really serious.

My favorite is Pigman the series. Hands down the best personality on the hunting networks right now.

This show is pretty ok. I only really watch duck shows. Don't know why but the others bore me to death.

I've killed enough ducks to know the drill, and I've had days better than some of the tv shows. I watch tv to entertain, and Pigman makes me laugh. I'll admit some of his lines will make it into my vernacular.
