That is the only one in the bag that day that I didn't shoot. While I was busy hiding the boat Tug found that hen crippled in the tules.

It's okay JR, you're among friends here. We won't raz or judge you. Even if you did shoot that hen or, sluece it on the water. You can tell the truth. instead of blaming Tug.
Now, blaming Tug, that's something you can expect to hear shit about.

Me2...until one of them hens turns into a Black duck on me and I already got two. I have a hard time ID'ing the brown ones until they're in-hand and that's too late for a do-over. I got ticketed once for not knowing this.
I had three brown ones. OOPS!
They aren't nice at all about these little things. ESPECIALLY them border do-rights in Canada.

I frequently find dead mallard hens that other hunters shot. Sometimes I'll find three moldy hens while searching for the drake I just shot. It happens way too often and I wish whoever shoots them (and then leaves them) would quit.
Once I mess up and touch one...it's a violation and NOT touching them is also a violation. (wanton waste)
I tend to NOT touch them.

I like a good mixed bag myself, sometimes birds other than ducks need killing too.
