Gauge was just three then and pissed that his older cousin was getting to pole. Don't know how much longer he'll want to fight for such "honors," but he's the most gung-ho for waterfowling of our grandkid litter. Logged a lot of blind time before he could shoot:

That's awesome. Love camping, but never went with my pops. It's something that started with me. Hopefully my girls will carry it on.

And I just realized that I forgot my original "youth outdoors" pics. My retriever    She still talks about that day, and watching the tarantulas crawling by in front of her chair while we were waiting for the doves to start flying. She wasn't scared, she wanted to "pet one." I said no.

That's awesome and a great picture AT. That's a smile and a half your little ones got. That tarantula petting got an lol outta me. One of the twins is the same way I was picking him up from school and all the little girls said "bye bugman!" In unison. He has gained quite the reputation as bug wrangler and expert

Looks like it. I have yet to see a tarantula while I was out and about but if I do...

I wish I had the presence of mind to snap a photo, but when our Gauge was a wee one, he'd put his teal decoys on the vinyl kitchen floor and stand at the edge of the adjoining carpet and call at them. Have no clue where he got the basic premise, as he was still to young to have been to a blind.
