Anything is possible. The plane flew underwater and landed at the Atlantis space port for all we know. @
Can't eliminate any theories because we have so little information. This is normal and even if the plane's already been found...the powers that be will need some time to put a spin on the story. Who knows?

I like that theory best.
It's completely possible and likely. More likely than the pilot suicide scenario imo.
It's ok to flip-flop around and explore all possibilities.
There are several but this one you just posted seems to make the most sense but who says an emergency or whatever happened has to make sense. Strange things happen all the time with electricity. It's one of the things we don't fully understand along with "how fire works".

One thing that I keep wondering but I have NOT heard on the news was if plans carry a EPIRB or something similar. Basically if it hits the water does a satellite beacon go off only if it hits the water?

When I saw the course the plane headed, I thought the same thing. Langkawi is a big Island and has a big modern airport and was the closest place to land in an emergency. That scenario makes the most sense to me. CNN has gone bonkers speculating all kinds of bullshit about this story!!
We stopped at Langkawi Island several times when traveling from Singapore to Phuket by boat and there are some absolutely beautiful anchorages and lagoons there.

Another theory I like is there was a fire and the pilots were flying without instruments and failed to find the airport they was trying to get to.
