Hi,
My name is Robert, and I am recovering duck hunting addict.

I have been out of the sport since lead shot was king.

I am retired Navy, had back surgery in the 90's so I could walk again and went thru cardiac arrest in Jan of 2013.
The kids are all married, out of the house and I want to pick up the shotgun and start duck hunting again.

I am almost 60 and conservative, so some of the banter I see in some of the posts on this board gives me the impression I may have joined the wrong forum. Am I correct or can anyone out there prove me wrong?

I appreciate the welcome, some of the banter I am refering to was on the previous page, reminds me of high school boys trying to one up each other.

I found a reference to this forum from workingdecoys.net with a reference to a pattern book for wood carving ducks.

I looked in the store, but don't see any reference to it, is it history like #4 lead shot?

Thanks guy's,

oh no no no Robert. Those were grown men on the previous page trying to one up each other. They're the night crew and can get a little rowdy, but all top notch guys. Classy, no, but top notch, yes.

I do believe I remember JGUN mentioning a pattern book quite awhile back. Shoot him a PM and start there

R.C. have you spent much time on a large active internet forum? People get rowdy and argue and generally have a good time. We're all here becuase we love duck hunting and the ones that come back everyday are here for friends and the BS that comes with those friendships.

And some of have actually risked meeting each other in person to see if they're weirdos. I slept in redbeard camp trailer and pee'd in the shrubs along his driveway.

By the dog you say, sounds like he's family now.
If he is pregnant, has a puppy soon, the pup could shoot the duck and then retrive as well.

Sounds like it will be quite a ride on this forum.

Thanks guys,

Welcome RC, don't believe most of the guys here they talk about duck hunting but seldom hunt. Most of the rest of them are cops that couldn't solve a crime if they watched the criminal commit it. Oh, I forgot, we have a contingent of high school and college students that talk too much but the rest of us (probably you and I) are pretty good guys.

Where y'all from? Where do you duck hunt?

You reckon a Dale-esque pup could handle the pressure? Taz not only had Dale that weekend, but some of Skyler also. Believe it or not, Taz also met Willie Robertson that weekend.
