I heard it was 14 dead. 50 wounded, including several children from 6 years and up. I'd like to shoot the guy myself.

In light of this, I probably should keep my homemade smoke grenade factory a bit more low key for the foreseeable future.

Same here, I move and sweat too much to find a good way to carry yet. Might need a smaller pocket gun. Stories like this make me sick although the 71 year old man stepping up to the plate in the other story makes me proud to be American.

If you wait to find a comfortable way to carry you'll keep waiting. I was miserable the first few weeks I carried. Kind of like a watch. Extremely uncomfortable until you get used to it.

I'm fine IWB but my problem is that it will show a lot from my shirt lifting up. I tried and I couldn't hardly work because I had one hand on my shirt with an undershirt tucked over my holster.

They are saying now that he had a bullet proof vest and gas mask/riot helmet. He shot at people trying to exit, then walked the isles shooting people.

Is it weird to think that once I saw he was persuing people, that I wouldn't try to run, but try to remove the firearm from him? Granted, they say that he had one "assult rifle" (there's a CI debate) and two handguns, so taking 1 from him wouldn't have ended it, but I'd imagine getting rapped a few times in the chest even with a BP vest is going to stop you enough for a clearer shot to present itself to an area not covered with protection. Especially from close range.

The wife just took our little girl (2 y/o) to the doctor a little bit ago. Apparently she (the little one, not my wife) decided it was a good idea to shove something up her nose to see what happens.

Turns out, what happens is, it gets stuck and you get to go visit the Dr.

We tried to get her to blow a snot rocket, but a 2 y/o doesn't quite comprehend.

Wife just called, the regular Dr. tried and failed. My wife said she cant believe how strong a 2 y/o is trying to wiggle away. First Dr. poked the inside of her nose and made her bleed, now she's flipping out, so they referred her to the ear/nose/and throat specialist. Turns out this guy was literally supposed to be walking out the door for the airport to leave the country. She said he was wearing flip flops, shorts, and a Bermuda shirt. He told my wife it was so far up her nose he only had about 2 tries, if he couldn't get a hold of it she would have to have surgery.

Long story short, the specialist had the proper tools for the job and got it out, and my 'lil sugar' doesn't have to go under anesthesia.

There was an episode of House where a kid kept crying and crying. They ended up pulling a little toy figure out of the kids nose. I think it was a police man figurine (around an inch tall sort of thing). Sent the family on their way and they came back because the kid shoved a fireman up it's nose. Pulled it out, sent them on their way, and they came back because the kid had now shoved a firetruck up it's nose. Pulled out the firetruck and then decided to dig deeper. Pulled a kitten out. The kid (the story goes, it's TV afterall) got the cat stuck, so it found a police officer to help, then knew that firemen help cats out of trees, and they need the truck with the ladder to get up there.

I don't know exactly. She was out in the back yard next to the garden last night. There are some weeds out there that have some little soft green round things. It kind of looks like the very first stage of something that turns into a small bloom. Probably about the same size as an air soft bb. I could take a pic if you're curious.

Well that's no fun- you know what it was. Seriously though, I'm glad she's doing alright- that had a lot of potential to be more traumatic than it was.

In other unrelated news, an unexpected conference call just reared its ugly head on my schedule for 2-3:00 this afternoon. Have I mentioned how much I hate those damn things?

We knew what it was last night because my wife pulled one out. I got my flashlight and told her we better check for more. We were scared to use tweezers for fear of pushing it up there farther. Called the Doc last night and they didnt seem to worried. They said it will most likely work its way out on its own, then told us to just keep an eye on it.

Today the specialist told my wife that there is no way it would have come out on its own because of its size, and that it would have caused a major infection before it went anywhere. Glad she caught him before leaving the country, and that he was able to get it.

When our oldest was about 2 he shoved a Kix (you know the breakfast cereal) up one nostril, I pinched the other nostril off and told him to blow. It shot out like a rocket.
