I have to walk through the river to get to the blind. The skeeters are a bitch to begin with. I think without wader protection, I would get enough bites to make me swell up so much that I couldn't walk back out!
Breathable waders and/or hip boots will be on the list for this season...

I'm a huge proponent of Cabelas dry plus breathables. Skeeters suck ass here too. I hate em. Thermacells work sometimes, but permetherin works all the time.
