Yeah. Pros did it. I just took the pictures.
The day they did it the outside temp was 84, and the attic was 110.
The next day, the outside was 86 and the attic was 92.
This will not only allow us to reduce the size of the upstairs unit by 1/2 ton, but it also strengthens the structure and provides a vapor barrier.

I don't see any baffles in there. Better keep that pic so the insulation company will have to pay for the new roof.

And that's a half-assed knee wall. When you finish that room, the sheetrockers are gonna cuss the carpenters for that one.

Ground loop system or a hot well discharged into your pond?

It will be a closed loop system in the pond.
This space will not be finished as long as we own it. It's attic only.
No baffles. The process completely seals the space and makes it a semi-conditioned area.
Venting would defeat the purpose of what we just did.
Fiberglass shingles are warranted fully on such roofs.

Certainteed - "Fiberglass shingles + direct to deck insulation without ventilation = full warranty"

I would trust that about as far as I can pee. I've seen too many houses just mold and rot because they can't breathe.

I don't know how far you can pee, so there's no scale for reference. :D

AFAIK, this method is widely used with excellent results.
I guess time will tell.

And on a Minnesota winter jobsite it was all over the front of your coveralls.

At least 25% inside the coveralls in those situations.

Same thing as yesterday morning. $1 coffee, diet Pepsi, pork rinds. It's actually a mid morning snack, not breakfast. Breakfast was two packs of instant Quaker oatmeal, apple cinnamon; and a banana.

Lost my flip flops over the weekend trying to push the boat off a mudflat, so need to get another pair of Reefs. Also have a pair of rainbows, but the damn things are the most uncomfortable things I've ever worn.

WHAT? even after breaking them in? I went away from them for years and went with sperry flops, but switched back this year to the rainbows. Love them.

Maybe they're not broken in enough. I got them back in June of '09 and they were so uncomfortable I quit wearing them. Almost like wearing a 2x4. No give.

Wouldn't be an issue, but my buddy tried to run the skiff through 9 inches of water to get to a shortcut on Saturday and it didn't work. Damn mud was every bit mid thigh deep. Get out there in the winter in waders and it could be lights out, curtain call, game over.

I love mine. It took about a week to get them broke in. I like to get them soaked too, and wear them on the boat..seems to help the break in speed.

Okay, I'll put more water on them and try to break them in better.
