Not usually but the guy that is always first in and last out of the blind is my friends dad and he has bad circulation in his legs and can't help set decoys because of it. So he is usually blind master as he calls it.

I think assuming someone else loads and unloads your weapon is pretty unsafe practice and asking for an accident, just sayin'.

I would heart punch someone for touching my gun.

We have a spot that is 4 miles from one ramp and 11 miles from another. We'll make the 11 mile run any time weather allows because it cuts 35 miles of driving (one way) to get to the closer ramp.

Yes in a way. There is a ramp that is about a mile from the blind but I keep my boat in the water behind my house which is 9 miles north. If it is out of the water we will trailer it to that ramp though.

Yeah I agree but, I am usually the one that loads and unloads my gun. He does it like 3 times a year when me and his son are doing a last minute decoy change though. But other than that it is mostly me that loads/unloads my gun.

You should treat every gun like its loaded anyway. If you do that then their should be no additional risk of accedent loaded or unloaded. Just sayin...

That all looks good on paper and makes good posters for the hunter ed class but, I'm talking real world. As a standard practice I think it's best to leave the weapons with their breach open and visible. Having a bunch of weapons sitting around loaded or maybe not is asking for trouble.

Never said I don't leave my breach open when my guns unloaded. But even when my breach is open I still treat it like its loaded.

That's why I hunt alone. My gun safety practices aren't conducive to having a bunch of other jack wagons around.

I do treat every gun like its loaded and so does everyone else I hunt or shoot with. If I could I would have my gun with me when I'm setting decoys but it would constantly by getting wet cause we are in waist or deeper water with waves coming up to our chest.

Dear lord you guys are ripping that one apart.

Plus, if you think about it, he DID treat the gun as if it were loaded. Pulling the trigger and everything at the ducks.

Hahahahaha. Na I knew my gun was unloaded when I got in the blind cause he told me the only gun he loaded was his and his sons.

This reminds me of a story.

An old bull and a young bull were out walking around the ranch one day.
They crested a hill and in the valley below they saw a herd of cows.
The young bull gets really excited and starts to run down the hill.
The old bull bellows - "where are headed??"
The young bull yells back and says "I'm gonna run down there and Fark one of those cows...you coming??"
The old bull hollers back "naw, you go on ahead. I'm gonna walk down the hill and Fark em all"

I use this exact same story with my basketball teams when they start rushing their game.

If he did get pinned down by the pipe at the same time a flock of King Eiders were barreling in what would you have done?

2/2 very nicely done! For clarity, you could have added the word 'douche'.
