Whole fried softshell crabs is one thing I don't think I could live without. They sound bad and look weird but they taste so good.

I like mine with yellow mustard, on white bread- not a bun. When we go fishing, I make sure to get at least a dozen extra, so we can eat them after we're done fishing with them for bait.

You use them for bait!!! That's wasteful.

Croaker love them. Cut each crab into 6 pieces, and you're almost guaranteed 6 fish when the croaker are around. And they're cheap around here anyway. We buy them from the molting sheds down by the dock for $8 a dozen. Darn near cheaper than worms, and definitely cheaper than bloodworms.

I guess if they were big enough they might be good but I only catch a few big ones a year here and most croakers get used for bait for these guys

The taste of lutefisk isnt bad, its the damn consistency and texture.

The only thing I know about lutefisk is the " stinky man " episode of king of the hill where bobby eats all the lutefisk gets the squirts and then burns down the church.

Bah, that's no excuse. The stereotype is a dumb one. Fried chicken? Cornbread? Watermelon? Who the hell doesn't like fried chicken or cornbread or watermelon? If chitlins are like any other black thing, I know I will like them.

That is cheap but I still couldn't use them for bait :o We use blue crabs for reds and dead shrimp for everything under the sun.

How big are those east coast croakers? When I was a lot younger we used to fill up ice chest with big bull croakers under the lights at the production platforms.

He also doesnt like durian based on texture and smell. Doesn't mean it tastes bad.

We can generally fill a cooler with 14"-19" fish pretty quick when they're here. Before they start to school up real well, it's mostly 10"-12". But anything over about 15" is usually nice and fat. Best fish for frying and making sandwiches with I've ever come across. Sort of a pain to clean, because of that big diaphragm, but luckily we have a cooler full when we're doing it, so no need to get real picky with the cleaning.

This logic would have you eating one fruit, one vegetable and one meat the rest of your life. Why eat a vegetable if it's not as good as your favorite? Same thing you are saying about your meat! I know where you are coming from, you are a farmer right? Wish I was sometimes!
