Lots of talk about black ones around these parts too. The one I saw was yellow. I was fishing way back in a swampy lake and saw it going along the bank for just a few seconds. The guy in the back of the boat was tying a lure on and missed it. The only reason he believes me is bc he said I was white as a ghost.

I don't think I ever shot a few when I was a kid, probably. Was in season too, probably.

Ive seen a rigntail cat at Gray lodge wildlife area heading out duck hunting once. Also seen a few albino deer over the years. A couple does and one small buck. The scariest thing Ive ever ran across was a mountain lion on my property here in the valley.

The number of mountain lions around here is getting kind of scary. I have seen one walking a fence line right out side of town. I see their tracks all over the mountains while deer hunting. My Father-in-law had to get a federal trapper to come out and trap one that was getting into his goats. The trapper told him there were 3 other lions in town that they were trying to get rid of. We need a mountain lion season, just to thin their numbers.

Don't know how rare it is but I had a river otter come up to check out my decoys while hunting a local river. It was almost playing with them. I've never seen one and didn't even know we had them in Jersey.

Worm snake and a hellbender are what comes to mind for me.

Ive seen a few eurasian wigeon over the years, mostly in closed zones. Ive had a couple fly by me while duck hunting the last couple of seasons. Im just waiting to finally get a shot at one of those dang birds. It seems like we are getting more and more every year making their way into the valley. That bird is on my bucket list for sure.

Yup, a friend of ours found a lion kill on his club down the street from your place. Its creepy knowing their out there. Makes the walk out to the blind at Odark thirty kinda sporty!

I see about 5-6 everytime I go up to Modoc County to duck hunt, never have killed any, though.

Nope. Went to Idaho in October to rifle hunt mulies and watched my dad nail a smoker, only to see it get up and run off. Found a fist sized pool of blood where it dropped like a ton of bricks, then no blood anywhere else. Followed tracks to the top of the ridge, never found the deer after searching all day. Next day, same spot, I whiffed on a big on, around 28" wide with bases probably 5", only he had forks that weren't too deep. The next day we see the buck my dad shot in the back of someones truck, they killed him about 7 miles away. When we got home we did the math and figured out, when we sight in our rifles at 1,000 feet, the go to 10,000 to hunt mulies our rifles shoot about 12 inches higher than we sighted them in at 300 yards. Rookie mistake.
