Tiler_J wrote:My best hunts are in the wind and rain. My favorite days to hunt. Love being out on really nasty days, the birds seem to work better. A good North wind day is my second favorite. If it is going to be a blue bird day, I usually think about not even going out.

Well hell it just depends on where Im hunting. Rice blind or goose pit I want a cold front, rain and wind or a clear sunny high pressure north wind. If I was hunting one of those fancy high dollar clubs to the north west of Joel's club or the timber pond I use to hunt I would go with clear and calm.

meh, your just hunting with the wrong company, hard to hide 400 pounders in the sunQH's Paw wrote:Around these parts, when we use the term "bluebird day" it refers to full sun no wind.
The reason some guys think sunny fair weather is better is because that is all they hunt.

It's like Mountainman says the barometric drop always causes extra feeding activity, just like big game. they feed up.

I have had some good shoots on gray, windy days, too.

If their is no wind on a gray over cast day to line the birds up, it makes it tough around here. You really need to get small and don't move much. The birds can pick you out to damn easy with out shadows or a wind to dictate their approach.

I have been to Seattle many times and I have never been there when it was not raining.
Do they never have clear sunny weather there?
If that's the case I would understand why you dispute my theory.
How many days a year do you see sunshine in Oregon and Washington during duck season?

assateague wrote:That sounds like the same crap they gave us when I got to Ft. Lewis in Tacoma. "It rains more in Miami than it does here". Yeah. But there it takes 300 freaking days of pissing out of the sky to do it. How long does the sun have to peek through to be considered a "sunny" day?
