I'm in a labor job right now building and restoring boats, and although it's a cool job and a lot of fun, I wouldn't ever want to do it for the rest of my life.

When I started out I worked everyday to get the sea time so I could upgrade my license. Literally only had 30 days off in 3 years and 3 months and they were to go test for next license up.

I will switch you if you want my office, I enjoyed my time in the field much, much more. Not even the strongest of ganja could mellow my ass out right now. little more than a week left and I leave this shithole. Back to the boat, I would do it John looks decent from what I can tell.

I don't really want a desk job either. I want a happy medium...little bit of work so I don't get fat, but I don't want to come home from work everyday feeling like I got ran over by a truck.

I have a pretty good balance between man work and office work. Except this week. Been 15's of man work since Sunday.

Sucks when you have to get shit done...

After almost ten years of desk work, I'm loving my welding job.

Jehler, is this really a question? You know you want it.

Florescent lights give you cancer the same as a wristwatch. I like doing tear offs and roofing, it's a nice break from pulling wires on side jobs. I weave the valleys and everything, my lines are tight. I wish a chance at a job like that came up for me. I'd jump on that.

Helping the neighbors throwing hay has become my new gage of that. Each year, it's a fewer number of bales before I honest-to-God think I'm having a heart attack and/or a stroke. This year it was about 70, down from 90 last year.

Mines planting beans or corn.

I used to hop on a tractor and go.

Now I get in and it's like a monkey fucking a football with all the buttons and switches and screens and monitors and a tractor that will drive itself.

But damn if the rows aren't arrow straight.

You got the GPS auto-pilot? A couple farmers here have them, and it seems a little "Terminator-ish" to me. Just get in, start it up, run the perimeter, then you don;t even have to touch the wheel after that. Spooky, if you ask me.

Yep.

No clutch, no throttle. Just get in, and push the "go" lever forward or backward.

The last field I planted Saturday was a bit irregular shaped and as I was finishing the gps was shutting down individual rows to keep from overlapping the already planted ground.

The technology is mind blowing.
