depends on what geese you're talking about? And if they're rice or grass fed. Ours on the coast are all grass eaters. They don't taste like shit, but they're not tops on my list either. Brant on the other hand are

canda geese. can't remember what GThomp said the geese back east eat, but he maintains that the geese there taste like shit though. ours are out of alberta and eat wheat, canola and corn, honestly ours (and Idaho) taste like grain fed elk on the wing. interesting how much variety comes from the same animal.

honestly Ron I'm new to it. Last season wast first time. Loved it enough I'm putting together my own gear. It's hard to say, cause the early season birds haven't been shot at, but late in the season, they're quite a few more birds...my answer...the february youth hunt is best
