Red, I'm sorry if i offended you. I believe in God, but I'm not a church goer, probably never will be either. I don't have a problem with Christians, i have a problem with Christians who "chastise and give sarcastic remarks" as you stated, to others and walk around with the holier than thou attitude that i quite frequently see. The way i see it, those people are not real Christians, they are hypocrites.

i don't know if i'm right or wrong, but TK really pissed me off with his remarks and i meant every word of what i said.

Thank you Ron. She is a nice lady and I know he is going to be lost when she is gone. They are a tight family and he always takes his daughters, wife, grandkids, and nephew hunting. He has shot many a coyote and deer in his life. I know from talking to "jim" that he is a fair minded LEO. Hell the town is only 2000 people and they all know each other. They are near a large reservation and he has some unique challenges. He is pretty even handed about some of the crap I wouldn't put up with.

I talked to a mutual friend of ours in WY who is aware of the situation. He is feeling bad about it but is glad I am organizing something and of course wanted to send $20 to help. It speaks well of the hunting community that folks from all over will step up to help one of our own.

Why is it funny when some one cusses at me in a thread and i get mad, but when I cuss in another thread at everyone, its suddenly not funny when you are mad?

Really, it all comes down to respect. When it is shown equally, there are a lot less problems. But when its ok for John or Ron to cuss, but not Tom, its a break down of basic respect. WE all like to joke and kid here, unless, ofcourse, I drop the hammer and then its suddenly not as funny....

I'll be honest here- the first time I read Ron's post, I thought "wow, what a dick" also. But after re-reading, I see now that it's not meant that way, and sort of blew out of control from there. And Lord knows I don't get insulted very easily. I simply don't care enough about what other people think to ever really feel insulted or get offended.

I am sure that I am a little close to the subject at hand. He has a lot of health problems and has shown me great kindness, and his wife, who he loves very much, is having a slow, crappy death. I want to do something to help him. I am funny that way; If we are cross, I give it my all, and if you are my friend, I will do anything for you.

I may have mis read it, and been a bit over sensative. Sorry for coming off like a (bigger) dick than usual. I see now Ron is a good man, and AT is right.

I believe as many do that God created man in his own image and gave man "Free Will". (The ability to make choices, right or wrong or to seek his own path) Many people I have met through life firmly believe that God leads their lives. I on the other hand believe that I lead my life and I can be good and avoid evil or take some other path. As far as prayer goes, if man was given by God "Free Will" how can God possibly give a shit about prayers? Through "Free Will" hasn't God left it up to us to choose which path to take. Sickness and ill health are often the results of choices we make and our biological makeup.

Many in America "believe" in the bible, but which one, there are many and all of them contain contradictions. Many people belong to a "church" because it makes them feel good but basically most churches try to indoctrinate you into becoming a follower and a supporter of the church. You know, just gimmie the money and you will be saved and I will use the money to spread the word of the Lord. I find it amusing.

So, when someone comes to me and says "I am a Christian" I have to wonder, what kind? What does that mean? Usually, it pisses me off and makes me sad. Quite often as you may have observed I have somewhat of a negative reaction.

Now as far as TK wanting to help someone, this is a good thing that I support and I would encourage others to show their support for a couple of reasons: TK asked us for help, and it is (in my opinion) a good thing to help people that otherwise don't need or ask for help.
