Nice lighthouse.
I'm rebuilding it this spring.
New everything.
Nope. My wife said she liked light houses one day so I built one. I live about as far as you can possibly get from any oceans. I know that pattern is Cape Hatteras. I meant it to look like that.Bufflehead wrote:aunt betty wrote:It WAS. This is what is possibly in store for the South next week. If nothing changes, we are looking at the possibility of 4 inches of snow, sleet or ice in the Northeast Louisiana area.

Dang, we're going to miss it. We could use some rain.

This system is changing daily, but we should have a better idea by Monday what the end of the week looks like. Right now there is projected to be an arctic air mass meeting a gulf air mass and it could get ugly depending on where the freeze line is at the time. I'll post more when I get it.

Crazy snow?
The misuse of language in today's world is "crazy" .
For instance...incredible doesn't mean fantastic or wonderful but actually means "lacking credibility".

Where'd you get the map from, national weather service website?

Rebel,
It's actually came from a meteorologist that has a Facebook page. I've been keeping up with his predictions for a while now and he is scary accurate. He accurately predicted the storm that hit the Atlanta area last week and has since received a lot more attention. I have compared his predictions with the homeland security weather briefings and he is right way more than they are. I believe I read where he had a 90% accuracy on his predictions.
Being from North Louisiana, like yourself, I try to pay attention and be prepared for any snow/ice event headed this way. Where I live, it doesn't take much of an ice storm for us to lose power for several days. I like to make sure that I have enough gas to feed the generator and enough firewood on the porch to get me through. I usually keep about 30 gallons of gas on hand for my 4 wheelers and my side by side since we are on them all the time and I don't like to make a trip to town just for gas to go hunting or riding. It don't happen often down here, but when it does I like to be ready.

All our lines are above ground here, and we're waaaaay low on the "get it fixed" priority list, out here in the sticks. Whenever a hurricane is coming, or a big snow is predicted, this is always in the back of my mind. My "prepping" really has more to do with this than with zombies.
