Might sound crazy but high quality fish oil works well and even compares to NSAIDs in studies. A cardiologist told me about the fish oil for heart health and then told me the side effects of helping to tame inflammation in the body. High quality fish oil thins blood just like aspirin. I've been taking it for years. Coincidentally, my back pain has decreased significantly. I absolutely never take NSAIDs anymore. I used to take them regularly. If I need something every so often, I either take two fish pills at a time for a week or pop an aspirin. If you try the fish pills, don't expect instant relief. It takes a month or two for the full effect of the pills to occur. The pills that were used in the studies were Pro EPA by Nordic Naturals. That's expensive shit, like $35+ a month. Costco came out with their own brand with the same exact concentration forces than half the cost of the Nordic Naturals. It's worth a try. It can't hurt. You also get all the added benefits of taking fish oil. Only the high quality stuff with the proper concentrations of EPA and DHA are effective though, hence the cost.
