I really don't know. Huntal6 is right.
The 50/50 is in effect on this one. :)

Yes, this particular issue is about the process, not the existence of the lower. If the lower was poured around the plug, good to go. If the lower was made, milled out, then filled with the plug, not good to go. But the fact is, the lower is poured around the plug, thus you never have a completed lower.

And I'm with Vince. A class action would be far better than anyone trying to stand up to them. It'd be hilarious, actually.

If it makes you happier, here you go Betty, right from the ATF:

Individuals manufacturing sporting-type firearms for their own use need not hold Federal Firearms Licenses (FFLs). However, we suggest that the manufacturer at least identify the firearm with a serial number as a safeguard in the event that the firearm is lost or stolen. Also, the firearm should be identified as required in 27 CFR 478.92 if it is sold or otherwise lawfully transferred in the future.

A suggestion is damn sure not a law.

I thought about lost or stolen. Being the devil here but it helps me figure out stuff and stimulates conversation.
Sorry if anyone is really upset. I did get a little cranked up. No worries.

Not being able to sell something means "you dont actually own it"?
I think your logic is flawed.

That was my logic.

But actually, you CAN sell them. You just can't build it for the purpose of selling. And if you do sell it, the it must have the manufacturer and serial number according to the Secy of the ATF.

I know what you meant, I was referring to that logic in general. I do own that AR sitting in the back seat of my truck though. I own it because I made it. I also own my kids, until they're 18 anyways, but for now - this is a dictatorship even though im not allowed to sell them. Although sometimes I wish I could.
