Archery is a bad idea.
If you miss or hit and lose your arrow...there's a nasty hazard. Mix it with a lawnmower....Gee God forget archery.

Yep only downside is the decrease in range.

I like the guillotine idea but I don't know how it would handle the feathers. As stupid as that sounds.

Why? You can get within 10 feet of most tamed geese I've ever run across.

An arrow out of a bow will easily slide right through a goose and then some.

I'll say an air rifle is the ticket. And if not, I think some small game points would work just fine.

A arrow with a big mechanical won't go that far passed the goose if it does go all the way through because there is alot of resistance once that blade opens all the way.

Some of those new ones are pretty potent. I know a guy that coon hunts with one. Shoots them right in the noggin.

Does it have to be CCI? Would CCI shorts be acceptable (they will fire out of a long rifle, just won't cycle a semi and/or feed)?

I may have access to some Remington Subsonics, and I have a box of CCI Shorts that my FIL bought mistakenly that I'd donate to the cause.

Method One:

.22 Rifle with 1/2" x 28 threaded barrel. High scope mounts. 1/2 x 28 X 3/4 x 16 thread adaptor. Oil filter. Cheap .22 long rifle shells.

Method Two:

Start feeding the geese canned corn. Take several cans of canned corn and open them and drain the water. Replace the water with Vodka. After a few days or a week feed the vodka soaked corn to the geese. When they are sufficiently drunk, just go out and wring their necks. (feed the geese at the same time every day until they are expecting to get fed) This method has worked well with quail in my back yard.

About 15 yards or so. Hopefully when they really start nesting up in a couple weeks it'll be a different story. Can't wait for those boogers to come at me, neck down hissing, and me be perfectly legal to swing a scythe while yelling "LEROY JENKINS MOTHERFUCKER."

Careful, bad things happened to Leroy Jenkins in that battle. You might be better off asking the birds if they know who's property they're on, then yelling RMFC!!!!

This is exactly why I discarded the pellet gun idea. Geese are no joke, Jeff Foiles aside. This is what I was thinking, and dammit, you nerve wracking sonsabitches, will it go through a goose or just stun it? Either one is fine, as long as there's not an arrow with this on the end hanging halfway through. And yes, it will be a crossbow. 125 gr.

a crossbow bolt should go all the way through but use the biggest cut you can get and it won't go that far after it exits the bird do to the resistance the big blade causes.use bright colors to aid in recovery

The price per goose will more than offset any lost bolts and arrows. We just need to find a way to quickly kill a pile of them, that doesn't involve shotguns.
