Black mambas are funny. They're known to be a deadly snake, but it's common knowledge among the Kthlili tribesmen that they rarely exceed 3/4 inch in diameter. Kudos.

That beard adds a few years to your look AT. I had the same insulated flannel a couple years back. Ended up ripping it while I was downing some cherry trees.

Where do you guys get your jackets? I had an insulated flanel jacket that I loved that I got from Gander way back when. That thing was nasty by the time I threw it away. I can't find one like it anymore though. Everything either isn't warm enough, or shirpa lined (sp? pilled wool stuff), or costs $80+. I know I didn't spend anywhere near that on mine.

During the winter I rock one of these. Notice it's a coat not a jacket, only kids wear jackets.

And always have on one of these.

Winter's have been much better since I started wearing those thick shirts.

Seriously? Wal-Mart.

To me, the whole point of wearing an insulated flannel shirt is because it is dirt cheap, easy on/off, and it's warm enough in the cold while doing yard work.
Never saw the point in spending $50 on something you are going to work in and ruin.

I get mine at KMart. Sometimes Walmart, but they always seem to have the gay ones with the useless hood. Wear this until about 40 degrees, then a hoodie underneath. Never pay more than about $18 for mine. When I was framing in MN, even the cheap ones lasted as long as the expensive ones, since they're all made by the same Chinaman, anyway. Daily outfit up there was union suit, flannel lined pants, and carhartt arctic weight bibs, with a thermal top over the union suit, sweatshirt, hoodie, and then the insulated flannel. Man, I hate your state in the winter.

There is a big difference in quality and warmth with some of the thicker and more expensive flannels and chamois out there. I used to rock flannels from wal-mart and places like that. The ones from Wal-mart feel like a thin cotton shirt compared to the ones from Cabela's.

But if you are working in them, they are damn near the perfect warmth. You don't want something you are going to sweat in. If you plan on spending more than $50 on something you plan to ruin, than you have more money than me to throw away.

I think our difference of opinion comes from where we live haha. I think it gets a lot colder here than in NY.

Not on where we live, where we are from. I've lived this my whole life. Minus a couple years in Italy and Guam, but made up for it with 2 years in North Dakota.

Your average temperature is 2 degrees colder than me here throughout the winter. You do have a colder summer though.

I guess I look at it like if you're gonna buy something to do a tough job like work in then spend the little extra and get something that will hold up. My $50 shirts are TOUGH I wear one every day once the temps drop below 50 and for the next 6 months. I do all kinds of work in them and am sure I would have gone though more ones from walmart than the thicker tougher ones. I really only have 3 of them anyway.

I'm cheap. Majority of my work clothes are Carhartt because I get them cheap(buddy is a dealer) I usually go through 3 or 4 pairs of insulated pants in the winter and quite a few pairs of shorts in the summer. About a month into my clothes lifetime, I start looking like a hobo. Then again I am pretty careless when it comes to taking care of my stuff.

I'm gonna guess you do more "real" work than me anyways so your clothes probably take more of a beating. If I went through clothes like that I might go cheap to.

Contractor. Typically the worst thing I do to ruin clothes is painting and roofing as far as the job goes. Most of my real work is at home cutting wood, welding, and building stuff halfway and putting it off until a "later date"

What do you do on active duty? I have always been maintenance so uniforms come every 2 years for me.

I tell ya, keep an eye on those Cabela's shirts sometimes they go on sale for around $25 bucks and I'm a telephone/network technician it's a mix of inside and outside work. I've gone through my share of uniforms I usually replace them once a year.

I tell ya, keep an eye on those Cabela's shirts sometimes they go on sale for around $25 bucks and I'm a telephone/network technician it's a mix of inside and outside work. I've gone through my share of uniforms I usually replace them once a year.

Should have guessed that seeing ya have your own website. I do have a couple of those flannel lined canvas shirts from Cabelas. They were like 10 a piece I think and I'm not sure they sell them any more.
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.
