I can't shoot most of the high tech bows out these days. Their axle to axle are too short for finger shooters. I shoot fingers and instinctive. I'm hunting with a recurve this season.

I bought one about 8 years ago off eBay. Was a pretty nice old recurve after I cleaned it up. If I remember right, it was a Pearson Javelina. Unfortunately, I didn't do my homework and figured since I shot 62 pounds with my compound, 50 pounds is what I should get. I almost separated my shoulder trying to draw it. I only paid $30 for it, and eventually just gave it to a buddy of mine, who doesn't have a jacked up shoulder. I'm like you Red- still keep half-assed looking around for a 40#.

interesting. Apparently I haven't done my homework either. Low to mid 60's is about what I shot when I shot a compound years ago. So 40-50 lbs is a suggested curve weight huh?

QH what say you?

I swear no one in the Govt can do anything right. I'm TAD right now waiting to do some work on a ship going into drydock, the cutter was supposed to be on the hard by noon but now won't be until tonight. So I'm just going to sit on my hands in the hotel room all day. :x

I'd rather be at home fishing this weekend. I have a feeling once that boat is on the hard I'll be working long into the night.

i had chicfila for lunch, today was support chicfila day since they have come under so much fire bc the owner doesnt believe in gay marriage...on friday the gays are having a "kiss in" in all their restaurants its absolutely ridiculous, i hope they give everyone the day off friday and close all the restaurants. on the other hand i saw soem of the guys on the crew eating some greyish meat that i think was sliced pork shoulder on tortillas with raw jalapenos and washing it down with coffee. i almost puked when i saw what they were eating.

The stuff going on with Chikfila right now is BS. Same thing with the boy Scouts, it's a private business. They can do whatever they want, the gays just need to get over themselves.

Gays, minorities, religion etc almost always turn situations like this out of proportion to for attention. If they'd let it rest many issues would all but disappear.

two fridays ago at the sister course abt 5 miles down the road, the crew cooked us a big mexican lunch, pork tacos, with onion and cilantro, squeeze a lime on it and add their freash made salsa and guacamole, it was awesome... and then my crew showed up late with two 30 packs of miller lite, boy was i proud.

Nothng in the garage right now is really American Pickers worthy. Waiting on a storage unit to go back into default though. Bid it then the lady paid it back up, but the story is that it will go into default soon again. That storage unit is American Pickers worthy. It has a old gas pump, enough motorcyle parts to build your own motorcyle and tons more auto memorabilia.

Worked in a tire shop for a brief stint and they brought a propane burner with an old oiled up plow disk. They threw down on that thing with fresh homemade tortillas every morning. My favorite was their liver and onion on a tortilla.

I just got home to 2 big piles of dog puke on my carpet, the really vile nasty gross kind, along with 2 bushels of grass that Taz thought he could digest. I wish he would have shat on the floor instead. And still, the mention of liver and onions on an internet forum is still the nastiest thing I have dealt with today.

Yes. Yes it is. I would volunteer to buy a plane ticket to your house to clean up puke off the floor for you, if my only other choice was to eat liver.
