Very nice! What other decoy is that?

Thats the Atlantic Flyway decoy.

That thing is huge compared to the emperor.

Yeah it's about 22 inches long. No where in comparison to detail though. I'm not sure if it is due to it being a donated decoy, or if the others just hunted it hard, but the paint is chipping on it on the head already. It is made by bigger water decoys. I would like a couple dozen of them if there was a paint guarantee for a couple years or something. Not that I'm that picky, but if I'm gonna pay $300+ for a dozen decoys, I don't want to have to repaint them after 1 season. Other than that they are tough(burlapped foam) and the keel on this one is a PT 2x4, it's that big.

Let's just say the Emp has lots of mojo left for the taking. Pictures coming once I get to my computer before bed.

I didn't get any pictures of the decoy in the field because it was miserable out. Down poured all day, almost to the point where I couldn't even shoot. Ended up with our 4 man limit, with a limit of woodies within that. Other Ducks are GWT, BWT, Ringneck and Mallard.

And yes, there are only 23 in the picture. I took the picture then realized I forgot the last one in the back of the truck.

Way to pile the bird numbers up early. Looks like a great hunt.
I intend to pile bluebills with that thing, hopefully. It's been forever since we were allowed 7 bluebills a day. I can't wait.

I've got birds everywhere I look here and, it doesn't open until next Saturday, in this area. I leave for Wyoming on Friday, exactly 24 hours before opening day LST.

Sorry for the delay in posting.

The past three days have done nothing but rain, rain, rain. Ended up going solo the past two days. Ended up with 5 on Sunday due to poor shooting, and limited today.

This was todays hunt. 3 Drake Mallards, 1 Black, 2 GWT. Had the three mallards down and took the Black, didn't see another green head so I filled the last two with the GWT.

This was from Sunday's hunt. 3 GWT and 2 Ringers. Birds didn't like my decoys for some reason and had a hard time between them and the rain.

Way to shoot em up. I am a little jealous hearing others talk about rain, hoping I have spots to hunt this year.

I think it will be fun no matter how the hunting is. The 3 of us will sit in a tule patch or a metal tank in a rice field all day to shoot one duck!
