Well, I guess I'm the only person to put anything in there, other than Olly putting stickers in there.

I thought since the box was custom made to fit around the decoy we were not going to put anything in there. Sit I could have put a Gator helmet or a Gator for that matter in there had I known. Next year we may need a bigger box.

I would then put my soiled undies in the box after opening to find a gator!

There's room for little things. Not enough for a gator though, lol. We don't need it to end up costing the last 3 guys $200 just to ship it because it's a box big enough to fit 3 strippers wearing a helmet and 5 socks, holding a toe nail clipper, listening to your 8 track of the bee gees while using red's "vase".

Well the Emperor's just finished breakfast. FYI...he loves homemade chocolate banana muffins. Especially the chocolate part. I knew we'd get along.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1351341103.957581.jpg

Taking him out with Sam and his buddy, Cody, to a tidal slough we've hunted before. However we've never hunted HOW we're gonna hunt it today. Got word that two of the three blinds are gonna be full with a couple a groups who also have permission to hunt this private property. No blinds for us. Just uncomfortable ole marsh seats, in the grass, on the edge of the slough.

Today's kind of an experiment. It could be a great little hunt, or a total bust. So Emperor, if ya got any mojo left I'd appreciate it if ya shared some today

Well day 1 with the Emperor is in the books. Wasn't a spectacular hunt, but was definitely a decent one. Took Sam and his buddy out. Finished with nine birds. Coulda shot another limit of bluebills, but we started passing on em, waiting for all the teal buzzing the sloughs. Zero weather today. Luckily the bottoms were fulla hunters. Only thing that kept the birds stirred up.

Boys had a blast, that's all that matters. One of them made a great shot on a high flying teal. A passing shot. They both shot at same time. Not sure who smoked It. Team effort.

The slough is deep at the edge of the grass. So just set out a 1/2 dozen decoys, plus with the Emperor, along the edge.

The treat today was the canvasback Charlie shagged for us. A hen. Emperor's got mojo

That guy definitely has mojo. I could have used some of it this morning. Birds were flying, but I was apparently the only one w/o a spinner, and I forgot my calls, so I didn't get a shot on anything. When I had the emperor, I never got skunked.

Keep knocking them down red!

The boys had a great time. The best part was Sam's Si Robertson quotes and impressions. A lot of ducks survived cause we were too busy laughing

Id rather laugh and have a good time with friends and family than just go out and kill just to get a limit.

Next year I will do a better write up of my hunts and take more pictures. Looks like pretty much everyone has had a great time with the Emp, I know I did. Hard to take pictures hunting by youtself.

It has actually been an excellent year so far. While I love those cold morning hunts, I love the warmer weather holding the birds here. My only camera is a canon slr with huge price tag, hate bringing it to the swamps. Im terrible with electronics.

Opened here yesterday, couldn't get ahold of ranchers where I nirmally hunt, quite a few birds around their ponds. Ended up hunting the river blind this morn, got a few birds. Will catch up with others in ponds by myself this week. I hope it stays warm all year, birds will make it here regardless.

I gotta say, I'm alittle excited. I've been up since freaking 4 am staring out my back window at the redwoods swaying in the wind.

I do best in small areas when the wind blows hard up here. Sloughs and new water holes from storm water. Good luck out there Red.
