I live a nomadic lifestyle. Moving every few years. So I try not to own too much ****.

That will grow old. I was the same way until I was 32. I had lived at a minimum of 25 different address in at least 11 different cities in 7 different states and one foreign country after turning 18. I haven't moved since and that was 13 years ago and I am damn glad for it.

When I first moved in to my house, the basement and garage were practically empty. I couldn't even imagine having that much stuff. Now both are packed.

OK, some of that shit has got to go, but probably won't until I move again, which is hopefully not for at least a decade and maybe not until I am moved to my permanent address.

No it won't. I don't like owning a lot of stuff and never will. I prefer small houses and less space to fill up. Owning more stuff has never made me a happier person. This is part of who I am and it will never grow old, I also love moving and wish I moved way more often than I do now.

However, eventually it's just nice to be able to go somewhere, slap down the credit card for whatever you want, and when you are done go home and when the bill shows up pay it without a second thought. Then start thinking about where you want to go next.

I suspect you will do as I did and reach a point where you will want a home base to return to and avoid all the hassles of relocating, but who knows, maybe not.

I'll just say there are a lot of very valuable reasons that people live in mass produced sub divided neighborhoods and keeping up with the Jones's is not one of them at all.

If my truck, shotgun, and virtually everything I buy is a cookie cutter, why not my house? Isn't that how things are made most cost effectively?

I'd say being in the Coast Guard is very normal. Normal or not, I just don't care. I don't worry about the box. Inside or out, doesn't matter, but only what works best for me. Sometimes that is normal, sometimes it is abnormal. Sometimes I'm in the box and sometimes I'm out. I simply do not feel the need to be different nor to be the same. That's not necessarily a good thing either.

Okay I'm done designing my little solar shed. It was fun learning Sketchup and if anyone every needs to design a building or anything really it's a super easy program to learn and it's free.

This is a 12v 1.5kW solar system with 5,160 Amp hours of reserve battery. A solar system this size could power a large sized window unit for around 15 hours until the batteries were at 50%.
