I won't live in a house without central air in it. I have lived in some crappy houses and military houses growing up as a kid. Central air conditioning is a luxury I can afford to give myself.

Window unit is much more efficient. Both cost and energy...This is where a salesman points out how noisy they are.
No losses due to ductwork.

Our ductwork is now required to be sealed and pressure tested, like the plumbing. Ludicrous. People are having to add exterior air returns/breather elements because the houses and systems are sealed up so tight that they cannot get enough air to properly run, creating almost a partial vacuum in the house.

My house was built in the 50's.
So I need to buy a new house, new furnace, new central air, etc etc.

The hospital air ducts are so clean YOU CAN EAT OFF THEM.
I swear...really.
The ones above surgery are spotless...really.
You can believe me. Honest Indian. (Wink wink)

I feel bad because I dont have the money for an a-coil and all the rest plus installation.
Terrible. Omg what am I going to do this summer without central air?...same as the last several.
What a world what a world.

We have central air but run two window units instead for now. Our master is downstairs and another unit for the kitchen and living room. Way more efficient for us.

I am running my AC because I can. Our house cat prefers 72 degrees, she wants it, she gets it.

AC wouldn't have been turned on yet this year if the girl didn't sneak it on. It's currently off. Highs have barely hit 80 with the exception if a couple times thus year

Didn't you say something about casting away some $500/month-electric-bill dude room mates? Dudemates? (I have pictures)
Glad to see you got such low utilities. My electric was $73 this month. You rock with the low $24/month!

It's what you were trying to get fixed when you took that place down south for a month a while back.

Great, it's like winning The Ugliest Man In The World Award, true you won but really you lost.

Summers here are usually 90's to low 100's. We usually get a few weeks of 105-120, those weeks suck.

My electric is 168 bucks this month. But I am running a big operation. My hot tub takes some juice to run, but its worth it.

I never knew it had a fancy name. I read through here and thought I'd missed out on some awesome new fancy gadget that was all the rage in air conditioning.

Alas, it's just A/C.

That's what I figured- Doc has never had to stoop to such a plebeian level as to have one of those ridiculous boxes hanging in a window. "Air conditioning" has always referred to the vents in the floor with cold air coming out of them

That's ok, for the majority of my life I always referred to the people at the hospital as "grandma killers" and "people-cutters", I only recently learned their official titles are doctors and surgeons.
