No, but sure have caught a bunch of em. Funny, around here they come in two sizes, about 18 inches and about 3 feet! I don't know where the ones are in between. LOL

They aren't worth it. Similar to gar but a little fishier. They say the eggs aer good, but I've never had em.

I read somewhere, they are paying good money for Grinnel eggs. With your commercial license you might check into that. It seemed like a real good deal if I remember right.

Can't take grinnel with a commercial license, they're considered a game fish by law.

I may have to double check on that, last I looked which was back when I first got my license around 8 years ago they were considered game fish. Fun to catch on a rod and reel but they'll tear up a lure quick.

I didn't see about selling eggs, probably a whole chapter on those rules.

From what I read, you can catch the fish, then sell the eggs. Laws aren't complicated and too over bearing here.

Find a creek that gets crazy when it rains hard and fish it. THrow a worm, liver, cut bait or anything out on bottome in that crazy current and you can catch them by the hundreds. Flathead are just a little more finicky and like live bait and deep holes. I personally get most of the Flathead I need by hogging them. I absolutely despise cleaning fish, I would rather clean 4 deer before I cleaned one fish. So if we can catch 8 or 10, 3o to 40 pounders, I clean them and have my fish for the year.

We caught these two weeks ago in flooded, running water in about 1.5-2 hrs. We also ran a couple lines this past weekend and caught several. We catch shad for our lines. We use that and worms when rod fishing.

That's what I don't like about Tony's. Slap Ya Mama is half as salty as Tony's. I make my own most of the time. Paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, black pepper and salt.
