i'd be interested to see how visible it is at a distance. seems anytime i actually see blue paint on a tree is when i see it while i'm pissing on the tree.

how flat is it there? i assume fairly level, that would play into visibility as well.
hey fowler, here in MT orange paint marks private. Don't see it very often but it does.

orange is ok, but painting it on a tree is dumb. on a fencepost would make sense.

i use official maps to make sure i'm where i'm supposed to be.

IL is fucking weird

The purple paint started here in NC last year as well. Also if the land is posted you have to have written permission to hunt. But if the land isn't posted, depending on the county, you can hunt without permission of any kind.

Idaho has a posting law. you must post your land if you do not want people to hunt it. if you don't post, even if it's cultivated land, people can hunt it without your permission.

Montana is the opposite, responsibility falls on the hunter to know where he is and the landowner is not required to post signs.

Texas is like that too. I was on another forum and some guys were talking about how one of them had gone up to a landowner and asked if he could hunt, don't remember if it was deer or birds but the land held tons of whatever it was. The landowner said no and got pissy with the guy when he pressed the issue. So in response the guy scopes out the land and sees that it isn't posted and came onto the forum to ask if it wasn't posted correctly could he legally hunt it even without the owners permission and not get fined or arrested. And when he found out it was legal to do he planned on going back and hunting there anyway. Bastards like that piss me off royally. No good sumbitches who think they are entitled to do whatever the fuck they please are who have made it almost impossible to hunt private land. Its amazing how little respect people have anymore.

Haven't seen the paint being used for no trespassing here in IL at all, signs only. See fluorescent tape being used for forestry.

The biggest farm I know of is called Speccio Farms. That guy and his wife both get subsidy checks in excess of $125,000.(each)
Tax money from citizens to help "poor farmers" who barely get by...
Speccio Farms is a hunting preserve where they raise their own deer, bred in cages, and release them for pay hunters to shoot.
They own a massive amount of tillable land as well.
Their house is so big it has an elevator.

THEY NEED THAT MONEY FOR ALL THE NO TRESSPASSING SIGNS.

Hearing a landowner crybaby about "entitlements" is sickening.

Its kind of ironic to call someone a "dimwit" and misspell dimwit.

Clearly you haven't been out here. There are fences everywhere you go unless you're in a wilderness area.

For me, a fence is a pretty good indicator of private property. Seems like a wilderness area, without fences, would be just the place for trees to be marked.

If you took that approach out here you would never leave the road. A gps with the public/private maps is pretty much a necessity out here in my opinion. A lot of people miss out on good public hunting land because of fences. And you want the gps to make sure you stay on public, otherwise Rex Muthafuckin' Chapman will bust yo' ass!
