That's pretty funny. We talked about hiding inside the branches of the fallen tree. These days camo is so good plus we had all that green behind us...

I lied on the "favorite waterfowl" thread. My favorite birds are the ones that push or bump off us but wind up getting talked back into something they know they shouldn't have and go down thinking, "I knew it. Son of a bitch, I knew it."

Not a whole lot more fun than having guys jump the gun and miss a mallard nine times, only to bring him back around and kill him while they scramble to reload. Shame on me, but it's so.

It was perfect for that situation. Fuck, we had neighbors on each side of us competing for them four mallards. We got lucky? I don't think so. We out-called the other two parties. They knew it too.
We did way better than them gadwall hunting losers that showed up late...didn't we?

Hunted with a guy who just wanted to do nothing but stand in the decoy spread and talk while we were hiding on the bank. Then when birds would start to commit, he would kneel down and yell "Ducks ducks ducks!" While pointing straight up. He learned really quick not to do that when I dropped a Gaddy over his head.
