It never came today. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow since I'll be heading north tomorrow afternoon. I'll wait around until the mail man comes (2-3ish) but if he ain't here then he will have a boring time in MO!

The emperor partied pretty hard last night. He is pretty good at beer pong.

The Emperor has quite the fondness for booze, a real party machine.

As of right now I might have my dad and brother over the emperor this weekend at our family farm. This still being my brother's first year hunting whatsoever and my dad's first duck outing ever. If they don't pan out you are my first call Bad17.

Okay here we go.

Loaded up the truck friday afternoon and waited around for the mailman to bring me the emperor. Finally, after what seemed like all day, he showed up. I opened the box just to make sure everything was there and put him in the truck and hit the road.

My buddy has an apartment up in Maryville MO so I just hung out there all weekend. Didn't go out saturday due to partying the night before and my hunting buddies couldn't make it up until sunday.

So sunday morning rolls around. I get up about 3:30 and hop in the truck and drive about 40 minutes south to Nodaway Valley CA and meet my friends. We get there and socialize over a cup of coffee at the main office. Now here is where the suck happens. They have a draw system up there. Got to hopefully get drawn to get in. My buddy pulls pill 29 out of 33. There were 37 parties there. And only 15 available spots. So that means we werent hunting Nodaway.

So we fight back the tears, hop in the vehicles and haul ass down to our local lake just over an hour away. We managed to get to the ramp with about 45 minutes of dark left. We loaded up the boat, cruised out to our little honey hole and setup just in the nick of time. Had a few flocks fly over. Nothing wanted to come in. Had just one flock work us good, everybody popped up and BOOM not a bird fell. Suckage. After that little flock, nothing ever wanted to come down from the heavens to take a look. We wiped away the tears, packed up and headed home. That was my short amount of time with the emperor. Had a good time but I wasn't able to scratch any birds. It has been a terrible season here this year. Even worse than last year. Oh well.

Got one pic of him out hunting due to the light freezing drizzle. Didn't want to ruin my phone.

Anyways, had a good time this weekend with friends. Just couldn't scratch any birds.

But I really did take the emperor to a party friday night. Never got any pics but it was funny.

Haha! Honestly, if I knew this year was going to be as bad as last year, I wouldn't have even signed up. Oh well. But don't worry guys, I put a map in the box of my local lake. And I even circled the spot where all the birds are so there isn't even a need to internet scout.

I know, I know. But we were already drinking before we even left so it just passed my mind by the time the cooler was empty. (And yes, we always have a DD. Thats what 19 year old girlfriends are for.)
