My grandfather was a farmer, and saw hunting as something to put food on the table or to kill things which were taking food off the table. Wasn't really a hobby, so there wasn't a tremendous amount of concern for game laws

We jumped what seemed like 100 woodies (but was probably more like 10), and I shot one. He shot a couple, and we went back to the house to clean them. It was a blast. Unfortunately, with the increase in farm fields and better drainage systems, the swamp is small to non-existent now, unless it's an incredibly wet year, and the woodrows have moved on to wetter pastures. I'll still get a small flock from time to time circling around sunset while I'm in a treestand, but going out to hunt them would be silly, because they're just not "reliable". Good times and good memories back in that swamp, though.
Hmmm, 37 years ago huh? They give licenses out at a pretty young age down there:lol::lol:

I was 7. Although I don't think you even need a license here until you're 16. But I could be wrong. I know I've never cared when I take my kids, but maybe I should.....nah, eff the Man.
You might be meaning fishing, or a duck stamp, but you need a small game license, which needs a hunter safety. You should know me by now, I could give two shits, I'm a poacher myself.

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.
