I don't think anyone is being hypocritical, I could go where you go and shoot more mallards then i do but its just not that important to me. I've never killed a limit of mallards and if I did it would only be to say I did it one. It's probably one of the only species I haven't killed 7 of.

I might if the one I picked turns out as good as people say they are. But I'm not sure where this became about what I shoot because it should be obvious by where I like to hunt mallards have little importance to me. I was just calling you out for saying spoonys are shit and you don't shoot them because I know you do. That's it. I already said at least twice I've passed on birds before although rare! You just sounded a little snotty about it.

I hated cleaning them so I wouldn't shoot them, but from what I've been told if they are picked and not breasted they are hard to beat. So considering that I may have been going about cleaning them the wrong way I will shoot them now that I'm not destroying the breast trying to breast them out. So that being said my motivation for not shooting them was because I didn't make proper use of the bird, not because I was worried about what people thought of my birds when I got back to the check station.

You know what. Fuck it. Call me snotty. I Really don't give a shit. Like I said prior. Depending on. Where I'm hunting and what time of the season it is and the weather. I will pass ducks all Fuckin day to try and kill what I want. I've had that blow up in my face before too. Could of shot a limit. But got greedy and tried for 7 green and the flight stopped. Shit happens what can I say. If I'm hunting a refuge and its slow or a club or the river or something I'll shoot what ever comes by. Like sutter right now isn't doing very good. Odds if I hunt their Wednesday spoons will be on the hit list.

Yep only 2 hens though. Last year we were allowed 7 Scaup too, but now the limit is like 3 or 4 and the season starts a couple weeks after all the other ducks.

That's not what he said. Boot correct me if I'm wrong. What he said was if there's mallards flying hell shoot mallards. If wigeon are flying hell shoot wigeon. If spoonies are flying hell shoot spoonies. For example if a pair of spoonies and a pair of mallards come within shooting range at the very same time he's gonna shoot the mallards. But if it were just two pair of spoonies, guess what, he's gonna shoot the spoonies....or at least try to.

yup. I find mallard is too bland. I don't know if that's the best word to describe it, but every time I've eaten one (not very often) I was disapointed. I'll eat roasted ringneck or stew any day over mallard.
