Putting a few sticks and branches on to break up the outline helps a lot.
I beach it for stability.
They year of the drought. Nowhere to hide so it got set up right in the open. To my surprise ducks decoyed the best that season where it was impossible to hide.
Counterintuitive.
You'd think they'd flair on a box.

Put a heron decoy next to your blind and it could pass for a big log. Looks good.

Got me thinking. I can't keep my dog outside.
Neighbors would complain about noise they already have.
My "Congo neighbors"..They're quiet.
One day the skinny minny with Harry Potter glasses tried whining at me about my dog barking. She's kinda cute but a passive agressive female no matter how you cut it.

Do you guys keep your retrievers outside?
If I lived in Arkansas I would..

Hold on to those memories, Good times...
When I was a kid, my uncle gave me an old bird dog named Gertie (English pointer)... I could quail hunt from the house, usually finding a couple coves of quail, within walking distance of the house... I drive through that area from time to time and it's all houses now...

I think my labs truly enjoy hunting upland more than waterfowl hunting... Upland hunting it's all on them, meaning they find the game... They get out of the truck fired up and ready to hit the grass or cattails..Waterfowl hunting is kind of boring, just sit there watching and waiting... Don't get me wrong they do enjoy waterfowl hunting, but it ain't upland... But who knows???
