Hey flight you really might wanna consider mounting that thing on a table or bench. Reloading naked on the carpet is tougher than it looks

I'm out to prove that's the way it's suppose to be done. As long as you keep your crank free of the crimp station.

Is reloading naked easier on a bench?

It's mounted, have a 750gn scale and STEEL powder. Waiting for my manual to see what else I want to go with. Where is the best place to find hulls and the sort?

HA!!! Just started that video you set me thinking it was on reloading with my motet in law in the room. Looked away while it was loading and caught it just in time. Might have been hard to shut that menopausal time bomb down!!!

LMAO!

I was going to face time the press and settings not the mug, but if you need to make a deposit in the bank I would be happy to oblige, whatever floats your boat ;)

I'll send you some recipes tomorrow, you have any wads? Any lead shot? Lead is a fair bit easier to load if you want to practice

Man don't have shit. I used to own a mec jr in 20, even though I didn't have a damn clue for the specifics of what I was doing I got a feel for it. Basically I just need to get my crimps straight and wad pressure unless I'm missing more points.

Looks like we need to get your buddy Frank over here to teach us what to do. Holy hell what a dipshit. Just flipped through the blindside thread.

if you had any idea what a can of worms that question is...

with shot shells the three big issues are pellet count, weight of shot and velocity. the end of the equation is almost always will the shot have enough energy to kill the bird at a desired range without being over pressure, even quantifying this is very debatable, you have energy, energy density, penetration depth in ballistics gel... long story short, 4's at a very high rate of speed can kill as effectively as 2's at a slower speed, great, 4's are smaller which means I get a higher pellet count so i will shoot those right? not that easy. to get 4's going fast enough to have the required downrange energy and still shoot safely you need to drop the weight of your load down so low that your pellet count is similar to a slower load of heavy pellets. i don't have time to type much more but you see where i am going, I can get more detailed when I get caught up with work. I like and load a lot of the lightning loads but hunt with them only seldom. real fast loads are tougher to get a consistent pattern with than slower loads. i like a balance of speed and load size, 1 1/4 of 3's at 1510-1525 ish is my pet load, if your finishing birds to 20 yards that may be too much, it all comes down to finding your balance of range, bird size, recoil, conditions of the hunt and tailoring the loads to how you like them. it is going to take you a few years.

Jehler gave me a bunch of Misc shells from BB's to 4's, some pretty potent, and almost all of them worked great. I patterned a few of his loads and theyre awesome. I also shoot a mossy 935 and it patterns everything well with the overbored bbl.

I dont care how much energy they have as long as they are able to put one pellet directly through the heart every shot. Otherwise I might as well throw rocks

As far as factory loads I've been pretty happy with 3's. I've felt like they have balanced out for pattern density and don't usually like larger shot on our birds we finish.

Is the Lyman manual any good for hull ID? That's the main reason I was recommended to get it, if not I'll just take it back and turn it into more powder
