A crappy season, WARNING GRAPHIC PICTURE

Postby Tomkat » Sun Dec 02, 2012 10:12 am

I went out yesterday to an undisclosed location that normally holds thousands of geese and ducks.

December 1, and it was 64 degrees.

I saw a few small flocks of snow geese.

2 mallards

And a flock of these ugly things were unlucky enough to work the spread.

Its not going to be any kind of record setting year here, unless you I start counting the divers I kill.

The one in your left hand is a nice looking bird. Shot one this morning, but not nearly as nice.
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

I have been expecting it to get cold and stay cold but it hasn't happened. Nice sawbills, should be good eating.

TK you always bring something special when you pop up.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

AT,
I have not hunted any coyotes lately. I had one get out of my snare last night and two of them have escaped my leg hold traps.

And you can beef up the springs if you want. But a #1 3/4 should hold a yote no problem. If you haven't, you need to add another swivel and shorten the chains, too. Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know/have done, brother!

Yes, they have pulled out of # 2's. After this season I am going to buy some MB 550 traps.

I had one get out of a snare last week, too....its been a tough year for me.

Oly, you used to post something special on Ksducks when you popped up over there.
