My waterfowling is about 20x tougher, but looking at jarbos hunts, i'd say upland has it's times.

Waterfowl, I've never hiked though 1/2 mile of almost waist deep mud for some chickens. I really don't hunt that much upland though.

While some waterfowl hunts are pure misery, day after day I find upland to be more challenging. The terrain in whuch you are hunting has a lot to do with it. At the end if the day everyone I hunt with is way more tired after chasing upland birds.

Both can be as hard as you want them to be. I choose to make my waterfowl hunts pretty hard, but it pays off.

Your brother just told you to shut up. If he's older I would do what he says but if he's younger the I wouldn't listen to a word he says.

Well I didn't know. But it would make sense. Older one is allowed to get on the Internet first and see if its safe for little brother to join in on the conversation.

My guess is that anyone who thinks waterowling is more difficult either doesn't know how to duck hunt yet or hasn't put serious time into upland yet. There may be some long walks in waterfowling but, upland involves more hills and/or pushing through cover. Upland also relies more on the skill and instinct of the dog.
For the record, I don't consider hunting planted birds in the same realm as upland hunting. When I say upland, I mean wild birds, not plants.

I'm pretty certain that what you said doesn't make any sense since I said I was older, but I understand what you're trying to say...sorta.

Back on topic, I think it depends, like most things.

I guess Ive been on a few what you can call Extreme waterfowl hunts before.Way Below Zero with a negitive 20 wind chill. But I still think a hard core chuckar hunter has that beat by a mile. The birds live in some of the most inhospitle counrty you can find anywhere. With the birds calling a 10,000+ mountain their home. A slip of a foot can send you barreling off a straight vertical cliff and Weather can change from bad to worse in a few minutes. Thats some tuff chit.

I agree but it also depends on your location somewhat too. If your in an area with a lot of ducks duck hunting can be fairly easy, but if you're not then it gets a whole lot more challenging. Maybe not physically but consistantly killing ducks in some area can be a lot of work, both time and effort. Same thing can be said about upland. I've shot a limit of pheasants in 20 minutes before but I've also had to hunt all day to find one. Both offer unique challenges.

I have been more miserable while waterfowling, but the days of 15-20 miles walking the rim of tumbleweed filled canyons and draws realky take it out of you.

Upland is tougher on the body generally, however, hitting a bird that flushes from your feet and goes straight away is a lot easier than hitting a duck flying cross wise, up and down, twisting and turning, at mach 3.

I don't know that I can say one way or the other, but both have their days.

Upland is pretty simple here IMO. I can take you out and get your limit in grouse within an hour on any given day. The terrain for pheasant here is easy also. Im not sure we have any other upland birds here, besides planted chukar.

Which part? Basswood lodge is the only place that I know where you can shoot something besides grouse or pheasant.

And if your talking about not being able to get a limit of grouse in an hour, you've never been to cranberry/newton falls. They are like fleas
