Supreme court ruling says the IL CC ban is unconstitutional

The state of Illinois would have to allow ordinary citizens to carry weapons under a federal appeals court ruling issued today, but the judges also gave lawmakers 180 days to put their own version of the law in place.

In a 2-1 decision that is a major victory for the National Rifle Association, the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals said the state's ban on carrying a weapon in public is unconstitutional.

I wouldn't celebrate to soon. They have 180 days to come up with some laws and I bet they are going to make it almost impossible to get a permit.

Hawaii has CC but they don't issue permits.

pretty sure it still has to pass through the normal route, where conservatives WAY out # libs. the last two times the bill was up for vote, it passed. Fuckin Madigan vetoed it, so we would have had to have a super majority for it to pass. the last time this happened, we missed a super majority by 3 votes. should be fairly obtainable.

but i see where you are coming from. the lefties already stated that they need to come up with a "well thought out" plan as to how to write the bill.
