I shot a speckle belly in Nevada and a wood duck in Montana neither is "rare", but might only happen once in a couple seasons from what I understand.

I killed 3 cinamon teal some years back. Dad said he had only seen a few in his life and I havent seen one since. The flock of teal came in and I saw a couple drake GW's in the group. When I came up and shot as they slowed into the decoys I shot 3 times and wondered very quickly what I had shot.
I killed a pintail this year. Not rare but my first in 20+ years of waterfowling so a rarety for me.

Rarest I have shot for my area- 1 canvasback, 2 goldeneye, and 1 banded spoony. I have been hunting this club for 30 years and only shot one Canada goose there also.

I've never really shot a rare bird. Maybe a blue goose I shot off the barge with Jehler.

Blues are trophies. I think the blue ross is a true oddity if they even exist?

I killed a fulvous whistling duck this year. Did'nt know what it was so I had to send pics off.

Kind of hard to get a good look at it but its the one in the middle.

Not sure what that small duck was on the left but it tasted like chicken.
