WTF does this have to do with making the streets safer? That's in regards to hand guns in the bill.

Why is there not a bigger outcry to fight these kind of bills being introduced. I keep hearing more and more from the left pushing there agenda but nothing from NRA type organizations. Wtf is wrong with people?!?!

Because our country has become a nation of disinterested, feel good, politically correct dickheads. I'm serious about that. And that is why we will fail- not because of politicians, but because of the degraded mindset of the people who wish to put them and keep them there, and don't care about laws like this.

Here are a couple links I have found. They don't go into much detail, but it gives you an idea of whats going on. They have stopped it from going to the floor for now, but who know when this will come back. They will just continue to try.

it looks as though i was misinformed earlier this evening because i was trying to keep up while at work. the house and senate have "acquired" many more Dems via this last election (not neccessarily a bad thing, alot are still gun friendly). BUT, these bills, or similar, may still make it to the floor next week (not a big deal, Republicans and gun rights advocates OWN the floor right now). the scary part is that these TWO bills (military ammo/mag, gun bans) can continue to be presented in this spring's session

This sounds just like California. The vast majority of the state is republican with the exception of the coast. Basically San Francisco and LA pass all of California's liberal crap bag laws and the geographic majority of the state is screwed because we don't have the population to fight the bug eating sandal makers!

in the last gubernatorial election, the governor was elected by THREE COUNTIES!!!!! i love this state, but i hate living here. and mark my words, when/if a ban on firearms passes i am gone. the only reason my wife and i are still here is because of family. i am willing to sacrifice my rights while fighting in any way i can to regain them, in order to stay close (ish) to my family. it just sucks that they decided to settle in this chitcago run state. i hope and pray that my daughter will never have to know the fight that we have to put up to keep our constitutional rights (but i know better )

holy hell, i HATE chitcago politics!!! the libs are doing everything in their power to ram this ban through during the lame duck session, as low profile as they can. nothing on the news, nothing on the radio, no notice to the general public AT ALL!!! i hope to God that my fellow IL residents on here have been calling, emailing, faxing their reps, as well as filling out their witness reports!! if you need more info, PM me and i will help the best i can with information on how to help OUR cause by beating THEIRS.

well we officially beat any type of ban for this assembly. let me rephrase, we KNOCKED THE SNOT OUTTA THEM!!! we also beat stricter mental health checks for gun owners. overall, we are OWNING this assembly. if we keep up this momentum we may see the foid card disappear in the next year or so, as well as some other dumbass laws we have here in IL! thank you to anyone who called, emailed, faxed, or filled out a witness slip voicing your opposition to these bills.
