Why were they letting it go? It looks like they ruined a trappers set to me.

Probably for the same reason Assa released his cream cheese, its most likely illegal to keep it.


Also, that cat didn't even limp or shake its paw once it got out of the trap. It was fine.

Can't keep bobcats in our county, maybe the same there?

For the record, I've seen it done with a board before- you take a piece of plywood, about 3'x3' with a little notch in the bottom, big enough for a leg to go through. Walk up to it with the wood between you and him, slide the notch over his leg and push him back until the chain's tight. The you have a foot stuck in a trap on one side, and a pissed off cat on the other. Spring the trap, and he ran away. I will say, legal or not, if I let one out and he comes after me, then it's on. Eff the law.
