Hunt from a week ago. My old spot is completely bald and void of cover after last years flood. I piled up what little brush I could find and used the ghillie suit. It worked like a charm! The river was really swift and had both me and the dog working over time.

It's the GHG one. I have the MuttHutt as well, but he does better with the 2 entrances and it has a pipe frame.
I tried dying Salty at one point and had read about using food coloring. So I wasn't thinking about water resistant lab fur. I lived in an apartment and had him in the bathroom all watercolored up and ready to go and was just letting it sit. He decided he didn't want to play anymore and he darted out of the bathroom into the bed room. He jumped right in the middle of my bed and shook! Everything but Salty had food coloring on it.
I was going to attach some stuff to him, but I decided he didn't need anything else to get hung up or to weigh him down in the water. I was going to install my GoPro on his back for a cool perspective on the retrieves, but I am worried he will get hung up.

Very cool, I like the GHG blind also, use it on 75% of my hunts. Definitely do not have anything hanging from the dog that could get caught, especially in flowing water. I have been thinking hard about a ghillie suit, many places I could use it. I could probably rough up Taz wiry ass hair and make him look like a brush pile!!

I got a few spots in mind that I think those suites would murder the birds. Ive been thinking about picking one up since opening day. Totally on my list of things to buy before next season.

I noticed he said he will be there Sunday sounds like a stab at Assa

Looks similar to the place I used to hunt on the Colorado River and I remember you couldn't jack around or your birds were half a mile downstream in no time.
That is an awesome looking dog and good idea on the ghillie suit. I hunted out of a layout blind last week and it was good for hunting in areas without a lot of natural cover.

Thanks for watching and the feedback.

Ya, I am in agreement with you, it's just too flimsy. I bought it first because it was on sale in Cabela's bargain cave (damn that place, I have more useless shit because of that cave and yet I keep going in there). After one use I went and bought the GHG one and the MuttHutt is in the bottom of a closet somewhere.

I was trying to figure out what this was about and then I remembered stumbling on a thread about some places that couldn't hunt on Sunday. That blew my mind. If we couldn't go on sundays, my hunting buddy would never get to hunt as he works the other 6 days of the week. If that wasn't it, then it's way over my head.

Where Assa hunts he can't hunt on Sundays, so we tend to rub it in that we can.
On a side note, Assa loves pictures of pintail. So when you get some, post the pictures up for him.

Cool video, glad you bumped it Olly. I could definitely use one at a few spots. Probably easier to carry in than a layout too.

One of our regulars used to wear one when we weren't hunting out of a blind. Worked well unless it was wet and the thing got HEAVY.
What tickled me most about it was that Mike smoked little cigars and looked like a smoldering brush pile.
