46 years old just knocked up his lady, first question, who's is it? Trip to the doc verified he still has swimmers, just thought I'd throw that out there for all you guys with vasectomies

Similar note, never a good feeling when you see your wife's birth control pills on the table and noticing you are only three days out from "hell week".

More like 65, that sucks, but kids are awesome so its not terrible in my eyes

I got mine done at the VA hospital, so I don't think I had the option to sue him, anyway. But anybody tells you that it doesn't hurt is a damn liar.

I never told that story?
Apparently, I was a learning experience. I had a "real" doctor do the left one, and a resident do the right one. I also had a group of about 10 medical students standing watching the procedure from the other side of the room. My head was behind the sheet-screen-thing they put in front of your face, which unfortunately was only about 2 feet tall. Only tall enough to keep me from seeing across the room, or even really seeing the doctors. But not tall enough to hide the smoke and smell the singe when they finished up with the laser, burning a portion of my nuts. I'm not kidding in the least about that part, either. Also, the VA hospital must have had a budget shortfall, and were trying to save on the novocain, because I had to teell that asshat about 6 times that I COULD STILL FEEL IT. He must have been up against his lunch break, because every time he gave me another shot of it (yes, in the nuts), he would only wait about 3 nanoseconds before starting to cut again, hardly time for it to kick in. And then the self-dissolving stitches weren't, causing me to go back, and having that sick fucker just grab onto the last stitch with some medical-grade Channellocks, and yank it the fuck out, almost breaking my neck on the wall when I squirrelled upwards to get away from the searing pain in my nut sack. Overall, not a pleasant experience, but one I was willing to deal with for the benefit.
And now you tell me there's no benefit. Pardon my consternation.

I definitely smelled the burn.
One day of pain for me. Wife took the kids out so they wouldn't be jumping all over me wanting to play. Next day I went to cabellas. Work the next.

VA must have screwed me up, because I couldn't even walk for damn near a week. I did leave the operating room and drive myself 3 hours home, maybe messing myself up a bit (it did hurt like a bastard after about hour 2), but it flat out sucked.
About 2 days into it, I saw two turkeys out in the back field, about 80 yards from the house. So I snuck out the front door in my pajamas with the shotgun, and crept around the house to get closer, gimping the whole way. I got to within 50 yards, and pulled the trigger. I thought they were separated enough that I could get just one, but a magic pellet dropped the other one, too. So I had two very big dead Toms (allegedly- I may kill one a day in MD). Thought I was going to pass out getting through the ditch and into the field, and then could only carry one at a time. A turkey isn't that heavy, so that's how I knew I was effed up, and might be pushing it a bit.
