They changed format yesterday or recently.
I went there to check the weather and found THIS.
http://www.weather.com/video/rocky-continues-to-pack-a-punch-34505
It changed...the story I saw was about a guy who shot an eel while bowfishing.

Is the weather channel going the way MTV did?
Eventually they'll just have a little bit of weather sprinkled in among tons and tons of garbage (ads).
I really could care less if some guy in New Jersey shot a funky eel.
Is it going to snow this afternoon?

HEY, they did make an improvement. When I clicked on the current forecast it actually said the wind speed and direction.

I been sending them messages complaining about that. Last week I was struggling at trying to see what the wind speed and direction was. I REALLY need three bits of info in the morning.

WIND DIRECTION
WIND SPEED
SUNRISE

The rest I can figure out. Sometimes I'll get into the woods without first checking the wind. I usually get out of the truck out in a field away from the trees to determine wind velocity and direction. I forget at times. Once in the woods it's really hard to tell which way the wind is blowing unless it's blowing hard.

Quit messin with the weather channel long ago. I use Accuweather and Intellicast. Plug in your local info and they are fast, fairly accurate, both have hourly and accuweather has a real good radar.

Funny you say it, because I immediatley canned weatherdotcom when they switched to the new format. I've worked on a farm and as a fishing guide, so my entire working life has been one long look at the forecast, and i've used weatherdotcom all along. Don't know why, but the new display just wasn't blowing my skirt up.

I use accuweather now.

Good post AB.

Same here with accuweather. Much faster to go to the phone than wait on the tv.

I dug a little deeper and found that they'd actually improved. I can get to what I want in two clicks now.
Wind speed, direction, sunrise, sunset, barometric pressure too. '

I like it better. I don't need any special apps for this.
Can actually use the gps in the phone to set my location and then get the info for that very spot.
THAT is what I wanted a smart-phone for in the first place. Pretty sweet.
I'm slow and it takes me a while to get these things.
That eel crap kinda freaked me out.

Every time I get an app I find a way to get the phone to do the same thing without an app so I'm getting stubborn about that stuff. Screw weatherbug or whatever.
